A very happy and excited Writer of Comics is coming at you tonight. This week, I've had two projects accepted by two different professional publishers! Tuesday I got word from The Creeps publisher Rich Sala that he'd be interested in using a five page horror story of mine. When it will appear and who'll be drawing it are pending, but when I find out I'll sure let y'all know! Also, I've been in contact with Roger McKenzie of Charlton Neo and Pix-C about a western strip for Pix-C since Sunday. He's been super-supportive (thanks, Rog!) and tonight, wham! Rog sent me a message saying Paul Kupperberg wanted to see more and that it was time to start looking for an artist. To say I'm a bit excited is like saying Stan Lee is kinda popular!
The point of this post isn't really to brag (well, okay, maybe a little), but to throw the doors open for any of my pals, gals, and/or Groove-ophiles who might interested in drawing a cool new western strip for Pix-C! I'm gonna post my pitch and first week's script (each "week" on Pix-C is a standard comicbook page, btw), and if you wanna try out to draw a cool western and be part of the newest, hottest movement in comicdom (Charlton Neo/Pix-C, duh!), send samples to submissions@morttodd.com. Make sure you mention they're for Guns N Rosa in the subject line. I'm sure Rog and Paul have some artist samples on hand, but hey, maybe YOU are the best fit for...GUNS N ROSA!
A place to show off my published comic book work...past, present, and future!

Hard at Work...
Hey! Hope the New Year is treating you well! Just thought I'd pop in to publicly thank Warren Montgomery, publisher of Will Lill Comics for giving me another shot with Kragor and Alex Miracle! Both of these stories were published in my own Blue Moon Comics back in the late 1990s/early 2000s.
I have a special fondness for Kragor, and still write stories about him quite often (I have about a half dozen on hand--ANYONE OUT THERE WANNA DRAW 'EM?). Ahem. I hope that an enterprising artist (or several of 'em) might read this and be interested in taking a shot at Kragor. I know Louis Sollune (then going by the name of JP Dupras) set the bar high with the first installment, but reach for the stars, baby! Check out his sensational splash page:
Alex Miracle was actually created as a possible submission to Gary Carlson's Big Bang Comics (I came "this close" to having a couple stories published in Big Bang back in the day). It's a "Big Bang" version of Adam Strange, obviously, but I had a lot of fun with it. Artists Ernest Edwards and David Vance did a tremendous job on that story. Again, I think you'll agree when you get a load of the splash...
I'm not sure when Kragor or Alex Miracle will be making their Will Lill debut, but when I find out, I'll let ya know right here!
I've also been working on a couple more new concepts that I'm pretty excited about. Maybe I can fill you in with a bit more information about them next time around. Take care!
