Kragor, Ash-Aman, and G.R.U.N.T.! Oh, My!
What's up, y'all! I've almost let June slip by without a post on what's going on in my little corner of the comicbook world! Letting a month go by without mentioning what's going on would make it seem like...nothing's going on! (That made sense in my head...) Ahem. Stuff is going on! Here it is:
Midnight Stranger in Fun Adventure Comics #3, and that magnificent mag is available digitally right now via DriveThruComics! It'll soon be available through comiXology and in print through IndyPlanet, too! And very soon, FAC #4 will be out with a classic Kragor story, so thank's Warren Montgomery and Will Lill Comics for making summertime Fun Adventure Comics time!
Speaking of Kragor, Incredible Ian Groff has completed the pencils for a brand new Kragor tale, "The Ballad of Setoora!" Here's a little teaser of a page for you to drool over...
Remarkable Russ Martin has completed the pencils for the first chapter of Ash-Aman's origin and is now inking away! Prepare to have your mind blown by this gorgeous splash page...
Wondrous Wes Wedman has teamed up with yours truly to create a brand new hero called G.R.U.N.T.! What is G.R.U.N.T.? He's a soldier...he's a zombie...he's a man who's been "Genetically Re-engineered with Ultimate Nano Technology"...and he's gonna knock your socks off!
Oh, yeah, more big news: I'm going to be contributing a brand new/retro feature to a future issue of InDELLible's All-New Popular Comics! We're doing an old-school story featuring an old-school character called...The Voice!
And, as always, I'm still looking for an artist for my western Guns & Rosa. I also have a few 5-6 page one-off sci-fi and horror comics if any artistic type out there is interested in just a fun little diversion...and I have some cool new super-hero ideas as well! If you're an artist who loves to draw good, old-fashioned comics with a twist, send samples to: thegroovyagent@yahoo.com ! Pax!!

The Comics Keep On Comin'!
Another month, another little crop of new comics! While we're waiting for the print release of Beetle Girl #3 and Fun Adventure Comics (starring The Midnight Stranger) a little later this month, we're also looking forward to two more written-by-me comics coming in October! Are you ready? Let's go!
I just learned that my horror short, "Clownin' Around" is scheduled for The Creeps #8, which should be out around Halloween. How fitting is that? The story "stars" a few of my sixth grade students from last school year--they're as excited as I am! Many thanks to publisher/editor/writer Rich Sala for making this happen. If you love the original Creepy and Eerie Warren mags, Rich has got the mag for you! The Creeps is as close to those olden days as you'll get--right down to the magazine size and newsprint! Remember, you can by The Creeps online here, or on Amazon, or you can pick it up at finer bookstores like Barnes and Noble!
Then in November, my oldest, most beloved character (tied with Ultimus, natch), Kragor, is back in Will Lill's Fun Adventure Comics #3--and this time...it's in COLOR! Whooooo! And to put the cherry on top, publisher Warren Montgomery, himself, has taken to the drawing board to create the eye-popping Kragor cover you see just below these winsome words!
THIS JUST IN! Golden Era Comics #1 (featuring my Hugh Hazzard and Robo the Iron Man strip, along with other Golden Age greats like The Clock) is coming THIS MONTH!
Things are chugging along, friends and fans! Please support these mags and keep my mission to make comics groovy again alive!

The Comics Are Coming, the Comics Are Coming!
It's true! All the talk is about to become reality as Will Lill Comics is officially releasing Fun Adventure Comics #1 (featuring my Alex Miracle and Midnight Stranger stories) on July 20! Warren (Montgomery, publisher of Will Lill) sent me some comp copies and they are glorious! Cardstock covers, high-grade white paper stock, and magnificent colors by Warren. Come on a Fun Adventure with us! (Oh, and for those of you who prefer digital comics, ComiXology will, indeed, be carrying Fun Adventure Comics #1!)
Also, hot on its heels, comes Beetle Girl #3 from Lucky Comics! BG is scheduled to go on sale during the first week of August, and will be available in both .pdf and print. Beetle Girl is the brainchild of Lucky Comics publisher John Helmer and I love her! She's a sassy, powerful lady, who just happens to be the granddaughter of the original Blue Beetle! In my story she battles a new version of original BB villain the Sphinx, and boy is he a stinker!
Cover art is by Marcelo Trom and Brad Eastburn, and the interior art is by Eric Douthitt! Keep watching the Lucky Comics blog for more info! Why? 'Cause John Helmer and I have co-plotted a super-special comic in which Beetle Girl teams up with a member of...are you ready for this...a member of POWER CORPS! Yep, one of my old Blue Moon super-dupers is making a comeback in Lucky Comics in a special issue of Beetle Girl!
Still have a ton of stories that I NEED ARTISTS FOR! GUNS N ROSA, KRAGOR, a couple of brand new heroes (one is COSMIC and the other is a crime-fighter in the vein of Daredevil and The Batman), aaaaaaaand I'm working on...the return of The Black Rose!
Join me in some adventures, won't you?

When It Rains, It Pours...Good Stuff!
Happy Summer, y'all! Been a while since I've posted, but don't take that as a sign that things are slow 'round here! Nope! Tons-o-comicbook-fun going on right now! I'm writing some stories, creating some more new characters, waiting to see more awesome art on some stories I've already completed, aaaaaand looking forward to seeing some of my stuff in print! Here's a run-down of what's happenin'...
Coming July 20 from Will Lill Comics is Fun Adventure Comics #1! Warren has copies of that gem (featuring two of my creations, Alex Miracle and Midnight Stranger) in hand right now...
...Joe Koziarski is hard at work on the second Midnight Stranger mini-epic for FAC #2! Here's Bruce Cashman's cover art (colored by publisher Warren Montgomery)...
...David Johnson, Jr. is turning out some masterful pages on Hugh Hazzard and Robo the Iron Man for Golden Era Comics! Here's one...
...along with Luis Rivera's captivating Robo cover...
... Eric Douthitt is pushing that talented pencil for our new Beetle Girl story for Lucky Comics...
...all this, and I'm working on a super-hero parody for Charlton Neo/Pix-C with Dave Rawlins (STILL need an artist for Guns N Rosa--c'mon, folks...!)...
...and developing brand new Golden Age character, Wardoll, with David Johnson, Jr...
...and I have new Kragor stories coming out my ears (I need artists, dangit!), plus a couple new top-secret super-heroes with a strong (naturally) Bronze Age style!
Anyone out there wanna join me in all this fun, either as an artist, a reader, or both? C'mon! I'm having a blaaaaaaast!! Meantime, I'd better get to work on the next Midnight Stranger script...

A Glimpse of The Midnight Stranger by Joe Koziarski
Update on the first Midnight Stranger story for Fun Adventure Comics #1 (coming this fall)! Warren Montgomery (publisher, letterer, colorist) of Will Lill Comics has finished lettering the first M.S. tale and will soon begin coloring it. I'll post some full color pages once Warren's done. I am so excited! Meantime, here's the character sheet artist Joe Koziarski did for Midnight Stranger (with some colors by Warren). Joe is awesome!
And I still need artists for Beetle Girl (for Lucky Comics), Kragor the Savage, and Guns N Rosa (for Charlton Neo/Pix-C)! C'mon you artist types--I'm working up some new super-hero stuff, too!

The Presses Are Heating Up!
Howzitgoin'? Things are starting to move now! Joe Koziarski has completed the pencils/inks for the first Midnight Stranger story, and Warren Montgomery is already hard at work with the lettering and coloring! So, things are clicking along for Fun Adventure Comics (now with an old story, Alex Miracle, and a brand new one, Midnight Stranger, from yerz trooly) #1! It's to come out in May or June, and WHOO-HOO, it'll be in color! Thank you Warren Montgomery and Will Lill Comics!
Also, I just finished a script for Mark Davis' new company, Golden Era Comics, today! I can't give away too much yet, but it's a story set in the Golden Age (but of course!) and stars an old character with a new name...stay tuned!
I'm still looking for artists for Beetle Girl (to be published by John Michael Helmer's Lucky Comics) and Guns N Rosa (which will appear on Charlton Neo's Pix-C site). C'mon, I know you're out there wanting to draw ka-razee stories about lovely ladies! Step on up!
That's all the news for now! Catch ya later, heroes!
